Whey protein or mass gainer: which fits your goal?

Both contain protein. The difference is calories — and whether you need more of them.

The question we get most: whey or gainer? The short answer is that whey is a protein product and a gainer is a calorie product that also contains protein.

Whey protein

A serving of Ultimate Whey gives 25g protein with 4.5g carbs. It's built for people who already eat enough overall and want to hit a higher daily protein target without adding many calories — typically anyone training to build lean muscle or maintain it.

Mass gainer

A serving of Ultimate Gainer gives 392 calories, 69g carbs and 22g protein. That carbohydrate load is the point: it's for people who find it hard to eat enough food to gain weight, and want a convenient way to add calories consistently.

A simple rule

  • Struggling to gain weight, even when eating a lot → gainer.
  • Eating enough but short on protein → whey.
  • Unsure → start with whey; add calories from food first, a gainer second.

Either way, consistency beats the choice. The product you'll actually use every day is the right one.
